Your Guide To The Sole Bloc Sneaker and Lifestyle Festival

Everything you need to know about the Sole Bloc all-day sneaker and lifestyle festival at SWG3 on Saturday 27 August.

Sole Bloc is on! More than just hunners of sneakers - the festival is a brilliant day out for adults and kids. As well as the chance to buy and sell shoes and give your current trainers some love, there'll be delicious street food, activities for children, basketball, music, panel talks and even an exhibition for football fans.

 SNEAKERS, SNEAKERS, SNEAKERS

The festival is an essential date in the diary for anyone who's into their trainers. Some of the biggest private sellers and collectors from across the UK will arrive to sell and trade some beautiful sneakers, many of which can't be found on the high street. The SneakersER team will also be on site, offering their sneaker cleaning services for anyone needing a revamp on their much-loved gutties.

SPORT, SPORT, SPORT

We're really excited to welcome Scotland's premier basketball team Glasgow Rocks back to the venue. With players on hand to give some tips (and sign anything you want to bring), kids (and adults) will have the chance to shoot some hoops, and take part in some exciting competitions throughout the day to win merchandise and tickets.

There'll also be something for football fans. From 12-6pm, Away Days will celebrate and document the beautiful game through the eyes of photographers Brian Sweeney and Tony Davis, who'll present a selection of images from the UK and European football stadia -  photographs that explore the scene beyond the main event and capture the ceremony surrounding it. Collector Jesse Rabbeljee will also be displaying a selection of hand-picked, match-worn first XI shirts and, in conversation with Stuart Cosgrove, will discuss the design, the game, the players, and the subculture that has elevated these jerseys to modern-day works of art.

FAMILY

As per their previous festivals, Sole Bloc have gone all out to make sure the festival is a decent day out for all the family — we want parents to be able to fully relax with some good food and drink knowing there's plenty to keep the kids entertained. As well as Glasgow Hoops, any aspiring club kids can make their way to the Warehouse where Mini Manoeuvres will be hosting their baby-friendly disco. Great DJs, outdoors space to run around on our new garden terrace, and a bar for adults...

FOOD AND DRINK

We'll keep you well served throughout the day with a range of stalls courtesy of Scotland’s favourite travelling street food collective, The Big Feed: confirmed so far we've got Mrs Falafel, Fire Dog, The Thai Truck and the Tango Ice Blast Ice Cream Van (Gelatoni). There'll also be, of course, a fully-stocked bar, not only inside but also on our new outdoors garden terrace. Go through the foyer, up the steps, and get a seat at what is the city's best new secret sun-trap (with big umbrellas, if the weather's not playing ball).

TUNES

In SWG3’s main room, Magic City, one of Glasgow’s most loved parties will be soundtracking the day with the best in hip hop and R'n'B. On the outdoor terrace space, Elisco will be bringing disco vibes alongside Craig Moogroove and friends, while Glasgow favourites Forty Clothing take over the TV Studio.

TICKETS

This is always a popular event, so we highly recommend booking your tickets in advance - however, there'll also be tickets available on the door for any last minute decision-makers. As an all ages event, there's a reduced price ticket for Under 16s (who must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over), as well as group tickets for parents and families.
