Studio Residents

Meet the residents: a community of (many) graphic designers, visual artists, illustrators, muralists, copywriters, web designers, photographers, filmmakers and likely any other creative field you can imagine.

Lorna Robertson

Represented by the Ingleby Gallery, Lorna is an artist whose work sits between abstraction and figuration, often creating harmonies and tensions through placement of shape, and specificity of colour. 

 

Andrew Cranston

Represented by Ingleby gallery, Karma and Modern Art, Andrew is a painter who tells stories through painting. His work includes large paintings on canvas and very small paintings on hardback book covers. 

 

Calum Matheson

Calum is an artist, whose painting practice is largely informed by his experience of, and affinity with, the Scottish Highland and Island landscape. He also teaches within Glasgow School of Art’s Open Studio department, as Course Tutor on the Portfolio Preparation Course.

 

Duncan Marquiss

Duncan Marquiss is an artist who makes drawings, films and music. Recent exhibitions and screenings include Glasgow International 2024; The Exploded Map. His films are distributed by LUX, and his last album was released on Basin Rock.

 

James Klinge

James Klinge is an artist from Glasgow, Scotland that brings an exciting contemporary approach to traditional forms of portraiture and figurative painting, dedicating two decades to developing his control with spray paint to manipulate it in an unseen unique way.

 

Martin Duff

Faith Studio is an independent graphic design consultancy established by Martin Duff in 2019. Their core focus lies in brand identity and packaging design, with a primary goal of utilising design to facilitate positive change in the world, whether on a large or small scale.

 

Oscar Murray

Oscar J Murray Architects (ojma) was established in 2020 and works across the United Kingdom, and internationally across residential, arts and retail. As well as this, Oscar also teaches on the MA: Architecture course at Strathclyde University.

 

Phoebe Willison

Phoebe is a freelance graphic designer, who works across print and digital. She works for a range of clients, from big budget advertising campaigns, down to branding for start-ups and side businesses, as well as being the designer for The Skinny magazine.

 

Richard Watson

With a background in fine art and specialised knowledge in photographic media, Richard Watson takes a holistic approach to film-making. As a self-shooting producer/ director, he works with companies from concept to creation.

 

Molly Hankinson

A UK-based artist who is now living in Glasgow, Molly's work interrogates daily life through the nuances of safety, space, and perception, deconstructing ideas of personal and collective gendered experiences into her playful, emotive, and energetic artworks. 

Sammy Scott

Sammy has worked in music management since 2000, when she started working at Elton John’s management company as senior day-to-day manager to various artists, including Lily Allen, Grace Jones, and more. She is now the solo manager of the band Travis.

Corrie Campbell

Corrie is an independent PR and communications consultant, working to tell the story of trailblazers across the Scottish cultural scene. From festivals to indigenous language initiatives, she leads authentic campaigns that promote Scotland's boundless creativity.

Dave 'PizzaBoy' Breen

Dave is a self-taught painter and visual artist working primarily in oil. His work grew out of street art before finding its way into the studio, where he’s spent years quietly refining his approach – with his background still showing in the directness and energy of his paintings. 

Dan Sambo

Daniele is a Venetian artist, who works mainly in print. His work often engages small groups of people to re-interpret daily life and the hidden distinctiveness of places. He's worked as a visiting lecturer in the Masters program in Communication Design at GSA.

Manon Rouby

Manon is an environmental legal expert, holding the following roles: International Coordinator at PAN International and Policy & Legal Advisor at PAN Europe. Their work involves advocating for policy changes at European and international levels.
