Nomad become latest Acid Bar residents

We’re delighted to announce that Nomad will be the latest Acid Bar residents, taking over the kitchen from Monday 20 June.

With previous Acid Bar residents including the likes of MAD LAB, Julie’s Kopitiam, Five March and Ziques, we’re excited to welcome another favourite from Glasgow’s contemporary restaurant scene, Nomad, to take over the kitchen at our on-site cafe, restaurant and bar.

Taking the helm from 10am-6pm, Monday to Saturday, Nomad will be serving up their signature Detroit-style pizzas alongside daily soup specials, skin-on fries, big salads and sandwiches. Available by the slice or as a full pizza, toppings include the likes of portobello mushroom, smoked scamorza cheese and truffle, and pepperoni, pickled chillis and hot honey.

Nomad began when husband and wife team Chris and Louise Olivarius, along with partner Thomas Preston — the team behind Glasgow west-end institution Firebird — decided to take the wildly popular Firebird pizza recipe mobile, rocking up at festivals and other events in their Piaggio Ape mini van with the all-important wood-fired pizza oven installed. Having been touring the UK festival circuit for many years now, they’ve firmly established a name for themselves with their imaginative ingredients and dedication to the perfect crispy-chewy, expertly-seasoned dough.

True to their festival roots, Nomad will be bringing their wood-fired expertise to the Art Car Boot Sale (25—26 June), when we’ll also be opening our new outdoor warehouse terrace. The Acid Bar is also open for coffee from 8.30am, Monday to Friday.
