The fundraiser party will raise money for a radical, collaborative film to shine a light on the early years of environmental art at GSA and it's legacy today.
Titled I and Us, the film will bring together authentic stories from teachers and former students as a vital message of the importance of creatively investing in a generation.
Following 6 years of unfunded research and development alongside artists and musicians, their stories will interweave music animation and filmed footage from the artists, with access to over 30 hours of VHS tapes and photography with unseen archival footage of a group of artists as teenagers in the taking over cities billboards, bus stops and creating unabashed works that cascaded down mountains, plastered the high streets, sang from the rooftops and sailed up the Clyde.
A selection of musicians and artists such as The Tentamentals, Jonnie Wilkes, Mallet Space, Pleasure Pool, Rafla, Claire Biddles, Saint Sappho, Mark Robb, Jackie Donachie, Douglas Gordon, David Shrigley, and many more will head to SWG3 on Thursday 27 March 2025, for a full complex party to celebrate and raise funds for the film.
