Queer dance party HOT MESS returns to The Poetry Club on Saturday 12 September 2026 – alongside very special guest MAN POWER.
HOT MESS is a dance party for queer folks and their friends who are looking for an alternative to the mainstream gay scene. With an eclectic music policy rooted disco, house and techno, you can expect to hear a few alternative pop classics mixed in to keep things fresh.
This time round, it's an extra special event, as MAN POWER joins in the fun. Man Power is one of the most vital and exciting voices in club culture today. Label owner of the recently revived Me Me Me records and the mind behind Are You Affiliated? a nightclub and live music venue within social-club at King Street in Tynemouth, that has hosted acts as diverse as Optimo, Mike D (from The Beastie Boys) and Sam Fender. Are You Affiliated is locals-and-regulars first venue that has revolutionised the social, performance and clubbing scene in the North East of England under Geoff’s guidance.
There will also be a special warm up party in the Zinc Bar, from 6pm till 11pm with Man Power, before Hot Mess x Man Power kicks off in The Poetry Club.
This will be Geoff’s most intimate gig for years, by some measure. Are You Affiliated? is a truly inclusive space, notwithstanding their members-first approach to selling tickets. As such, Hot Mess are following his approach with this party. The first block of tickets will be available only to Hot Mess regulars before tickets are opened for a general sale.

This event is strictly 18+. We accept two forms of ID: a driver's licence (either full or provisional), or a passport (this must be valid and in-date).
