VISITS AND TALKS
Inspiring the next generation, helping them discover their talent, instilling confidence and highlighting vital and sometimes unexpected career paths is an essential part of what we do.
Through strong ties with a number of educational institutions, we’ve delivered everything from guided tours, to talks and lectures, to bespoke workshops. Various clubs, groups and schools have enjoyed visiting SWG3 for a guided tour of the stunning artwork found scattered across the complex, from the murals on the railway arches to large-scale creations inside the hallowed Galvanizers space.
Visits in recent years have included graphic design students from the Edinburgh College of Art and Fife College, who took in some creative inspiration and learnt a little more about the huge crossover of skills between design and graffit through an in-depth look at some of the existing examples on the SWG3 railway arches, led by artist and SWG3 Studio Director Gaz Mac.
Starting them a bit younger, we had a brilliant time entertaining a class from Glasgow’s Kelvinside Academy with a demonstration by legendary artists David Knox and Mark Worst in the Galvanizers Yard.
