Legendary Scottish rock group Big Country headline SWG3 Galvanizers on Friday 6 September 2024, to celebrate 40 years of their sophomore album Steeltown.
Recorded at ABBA’s Polar Studios in Stockholm with production from Steve Lillywhite, and released in October, 1984, the album is regarded by many as a classic to this day, and went straight to the number 1 slot in the UK album charts. The group now come together to perform songs from the album as well as the classic hits including Fields of Fire, and In A Big Country.
They'll be joined on the night by The Alarm's Mike Peters. Known primarily as frontman of the internationally acclaimed Welsh band, Mike is also solo acoustic performer and founder of what is now regarded as the world’s leading rock and roll cancer charity Love Hope Strength Foundation.
This event is strictly 14+. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over. One adult can attend with a maximum of two Under 16s.

The Galvanizers can be accessed via a small set of stairs, platform lift or ramp. Accessible toilets are available in all ground floor level bars servicing this space.

BY TRAIN + SUBWAY + BUS
The nearest travel hub is Partick Interchange. From there, it’s a 10 minute walk to SWG3 along the Expressway.
BY BIKE
The nearest bike racks can be found on the corner of Kelvinhaugh Street and Dumbarton Road, including NextBike stands. Bikes will not be permitted on site, so please lock up before arriving.
There are a variety of pubs and restaurants situated in the heart of Finnieston, which is a five minute walk from the venue.
SWG3 is located in a residential area. Please respect the neighbours by keeping the noise down when arriving at, and leaving, the venue.
