Scottish indie legends The Soup Dragons headline SWG3 Galvanizers on Thursday 2 November 2023.
The group formed in Bellshill in 1985, and are widely regarded as one of the creators of the 'Bellshill scene' that birthed bands such as BMX Bandits, and Teenage Fanclub. Alongside these bands, The Soup Dragons gained a strong reputation locally – but they struggled to breakthrough in the rest of the UK. However, this changed when they gained national fame after their cover of The Rolling Stones' I'm Free became a top 5 hit in the UK in 1990.
After this, the group went on to score a top 5 hit in the USA with their single Divine Thing, and they veered away from jangle-pop indie towards an acid house dance-infused sound. To date they have released four studio albums, and have undergone several lineup changes.
They will be joined by The Vaselines.
This event is strictly 14+. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over. One adult can attend with a maximum of two Under 16s.
