Norwegian rock collective Sløtface headline The Poetry Club on Sunday 26 November 2023.
Formed, and led by singer Hayley Shea, the group were originally a four-piece and released two studio albums from 2012 till 2021, before changing to it's current iteration – where Shea remains as the only original member, and takes charge to collaborate with live performers in order to operate as a collective, rather than having a traditional band structure.
Having previously written Sløtface’s previous two albums about deeply personal topics, Shea was determined to simply have fun with the current iteration of the group, and has taken inspiration from pop artists such as Jack Antonoff and Taylor Swift. Despite this, 2023's AWAKE/ASLEEP feels like a natural continuation from the group, and manages to retain a sense of familiarity for the listener whilst incorporating elements that help keep the music fresh and highlight the new direction of the group.
This event is strictly 14+. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over. One adult can attend with a maximum of two Under 16s.
