Avant-garde metal duo Empire State Bastard head to SWG3 TV Studio on Tuesday 14 November 2023.
The duo, which consists of Biffy Clyro frontman Simon Neil, and Biffy touring musician Mike Vennart, came around as a result of the pair sharing the most extreme, avant-garde, metal-offshoot songs they could find with each other whilst on tour together. Rather than simply observing the absurdity of what they were hearing, they decided to get involved, and before they knew it, Empire State Bastard was born. You can expect soaring, thick riffs paired with industrial, almost inhuman, sounding vocal screeches for an incredible sonic exploration – it really is Neil as you've never heard him before, as Vennart's extreme and brutal musicianship pushes him to the limit of what is humanly possible.
This event is strictly 14+. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over. One adult can attend with a maximum of two Under 16s.

BY TRAIN + SUBWAY + BUS
The nearest travel hub is Partick Interchange. From there, it’s a 10 minute walk to SWG3 along the Expressway.
BY BIKE
The nearest bike racks can be found on the corner of Kelvinhaugh Street and Dumbarton Road, including NextBike stands. Bikes will not be permitted on site, so please lock up before arriving.
There are a variety of pubs and restaurants situated in the heart of Finnieston, which is a five minute walk from the venue.
SWG3 is located in a residential area. Please respect the neighbours by keeping the noise down when arriving at, and leaving, the venue.
