Nina Siphesihle Pinkie Mdwaba is a South African born (1995) performance artist ,Theatre Maker, poet, sculptor and writer. Nina works predominantly in verbatim, using real life accounts to carry through the narratives of her pieces. Other mediums used in Nina’s work include poetry, music and movement, whilst incorporating various themes rooted in her African culture. She completed her primary schooling and initial years of high school in South Africa before moving independently to Brighton, England in 2012. She currently attends Glasgow University where she studies Theatre and Psychology and will be attend her Masters in Drama therapy at Royal Central in London in the upcoming year. She also runs a successful blog “Boldieaintaboy” where she writes about theatre, politics, fashion, and her experiences as an intersectional feminist and as a queer women of colour. Nina has been actively involved in theatre from the early age of 7 and has performed her works in over many art venues in Glasgow and Festivals in London. We're so happy to have her as our curator for May and are so excited to share 'Our House Our Rules' with you!
