The Million Dollar Orchestra return in 2019.
The event takes place from 8pm - 11pm
Aftershow 11pm - 3am (must have a valid event + Aftershow ticket)
This August, The Million Dollar Orchestra is set to deliver another love-soaked floor-filling spectacular.
After last year’s ecstatic vibes in Saint Lukes with the orchestra paying homage to New York's revered Salsoul Records, we're back with a glittering vengeance! This time SWG3 plays host to our expertly crafted journey through the essence of the disco era's most captivating music.
Love is the Message. And love is the set menu for the evening; delivered by a ten piece rhythm section, percussionists and the most soulful vocalists in town, all backed by the biggest string section we can fit on a stage, curated by Million Dollar Disco's Al Kent.
From 11pm we move upstairs for a warehouse after party till 3am with Al Kent on DJ duties.
"Big shout outs to Al Kent and the Million Dollar Orchestra for putting on an amazing evening of magnificent music in a perfect venue with a more than appreciative audience.
Hearing the strings of Runaway, Dr Love, Catch Me On the Rebound, Dreamin plus much more being played right in front of me was a joy to watch."
- Scratch and Sniff Dan, Glasgow, DJ
"Al Kent has done something really special here, if you are in and around Glasgow on Saturday this really is a must see / must hear / must dance at event
Utmost respect to the big man and all involved, for doing this, and devoting your heart and soul into glorying all those classic salsoul records that have been the staple diet for any disco lover over the last 40 odd years...is really is a beautiful beautiful thing!"
- Shaun Samuel AKA Cazz Ear, London, DJ/Producer
"Well worth the road trip. The Million Dollar Orchestra live with Al Kent was pure magic. Disco at its finest. Well done to all involved. You gotta do it again. Danced our arses off!"
- Imfromull, Hull, DJ/Editor
"Feeling very emotional. Only two people could persuade a full orchestra to play a night of the best disco music ever produced by Salsoul, in a church, with balloons, a metre mirror ball rotating and people singing along.. one is the late genius Vince Montana Jr who created the music who last did this in New York in the 90s. The other is the living genius Al Kent who is doing it in the magical city of Glasgow in 2018"
- Lee Shankland, Manchester, Northern Disco promoter
