Due to popular demand, Ka Pao is back for its second residency at Acid Bar, SWG3’s newly unveiled bar and restaurant space. Kicking off next week (Friday 3rd August), the residency will continue Acid Bar’s mission to bring unique dining experiences from Scotland's food scene.
Founder of SWG3, Mutley said, “Acid Bar has been purposefully designed as a blank canvas dining space for emerging and established food vendors, giving them a different type of platform to serve their craft, and Glasgow diners - fresh and exciting cuisine from some of the city's most talented chefs."
With Head Chef Sandy Browning at its helm, Ka Pao takes its guidance from the cooking of Southeast Asia; the dishes on offer at Acid Bar will reflect some very traditional cookery techniques from the region, others will fuse more modern methods and influences. Sandy said, "Ka Pao’s first residency sold out completely, so bringing it back for a second instalment felt like the right thing to do. This time, the residency isn’t ticketed, people can just book online and can choose from our regularly changing menu on the night. We’re bringing back some of our favourite dishes from the first series of nights and are working on lots of new ideas too.”
And if you were one of the lucky ones to sample last month’s residency, there’s lots of newness this time around too; the menu has been evolved and now features new dishes, such as - messy prawns, tamarind, palm sugar and salt n pepper oyster mushrooms with pickled mooli. Acid Bar is the first on-site food and drink outlet for SWG3 and also offers up a range of cocktails, coffees and lunch dishes throughout the day, seven days a week.
